I have been dealing with computers and software since 1977 and have given seminars to local, provincial and international groups on the topic of free software [Freeware or OpenSource software]. I only list products that are in the top 20%, usually the top 10% of all products offered. Why waste your time with the others? I wouldn't use them, so why would you?

Fight the BAD GUYS! There are certain products which EVERY computer When I was in the computer business for 17 years, some customers did not feel it was important to spend so much money on security products, because they told me, "I never click on any links." Only ONE problem with that, YOU DON'T HAVE TO CLICK ON A LINK TO OPEN A PANDORA'S BOX! There are attachments to email which when you simply are going down your email list and HIGHLIGHT that line, start installing a trojan on your system. Later you wonder why your system is running so slowly or why it is so hard to connect to the internet! 1. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT! IT IS MUCH CHEAPER TO INSTALL A GOOD INTERNET SECURITY PRODUCT THAN TO PAY A COMPUTER GUY TO FIX YOUR SYSTEM AND POSSIBLY HAVE TO REINSTALL WINDOWS which could easily come to $100-$150 dollars! And then you have also the possible loss of photos, important documents and more! The common name brands which you see in the box stores have had their day. They still work okay but they are NOT on the top of the list for protecting your system any more! Also some of them are so intrusive and controlling that you may wonder why you cannot install software or why your system is so sluggish while the product is running. I researched and chose Kaspersky because I and other technogeeks believe it is the best, fastest, least noticeable product. It is constantly working in the background with very little or any taxing of your system. It downloads updates sometimes hourly when there is an outbreak of a particuluar virus. You will NOT REGRET purchasing and installing Kaspersky! You will be given a link where you can immediately download the product and install it. It is also MUCH CHEAPER that way! However make sure to save a copy on a CDROM or other backup media. Have MORE THAN ONE COMPUTER? Licenses found here! The products are recommended by me AND by TOP 'gurus' working for many different companies. So let's start. There are nasty people out there wanting to crash your system, slow it down, steal your secrets, and fill your system full of pop-ads for THEIR products. Sometimes, rarely, a hacker might try to attack your computer directly by entering it through weaknesses in the system. To prevent this, you have two choices. Free partial protection or the whole wad, an Internet Security Suite. YouTube Robot downloads and converts your YouTube videos to work on your computer, mobile phone, iPod, iPhone, Pocket PC, PSP, or Zune.
More Info 2. DEFRAGGER The next product works seamlessly in the background as well whenever there is no activity on your drive to DEFRAGMENT your data. -What is 'DEFRAGMENT'? As you save documents and install programs and your hard disk is whirling around at unbelievable speeds, it drops part of the program being installed in the nearest empty spot and keeps doing that while creating a chain of links to the next bit of information. So then when you load your new software, it may take a while to come up. Why? Because it has to load a bit and then go to the next link and load the next bit and so on. So your system needs to be organized. You know SPRING CLEANUP! Except if you wait until spring to clean up your system, your will have to wait forever to get the job done! So this product works in the background constantly whenever you are not doing anything on the computer. NOW the BAD NEWS! IT'S FREE! 3. Registry Cleanup and MORE. I also use on my system and most heartily recommend a piece of software you will NEVER SEE IN A STORE but is indispensable to clean up bits and pieces of temporary files, remove missing links, and clean the registry of unused stuff. SHOULD have or you are courting disaster. You need to secure your system so no bugs can get in and wreck your work and your system. It is MUCH MORE expensive to fix than to BUY the right products the first time. We recommend ONLY the top products.
