Picasa comes with the Google Pack of Essential Software

The Power of Google on their desktop PCs. Google Pack provides a single installer for many essential PC applications from Google and other trusted partners. These applications improve your browsing with increased speed and security, provide better searching capability for the web and for your own PC and enable you to collect and organize your personal data, including photos. Visit the
Google Pack website.

HOWEVER: I SUGGEST THAT YOU DO NOT DOWNLOAD THESE PRODUCTS:

  1. Norton Security Scan - will give you a scan and then tell you it cannot do anything unless you download and pay for Norton!  Norton used to be my favorite security software but it became too controlling by hobbling together products bought from other publishers to make a whole security suite. It is also VERY MEMORY INTENSIVE! NOT RECOMMENDED!

As of May 27, 2008 the others listed are okay. However don't get carried away. The more you install when you don't need to the more your system gets bogged down.
